Counsellor Dong had been welcomed into ICL

Counsellor Dong had been welcomed into the premises by our school chairmen Ewen Mackenzie-Bowie and Bruce Qin, our principal Wayne Dyer, general manager Maria Rodriguez, and our China marketing manager Doris Ding. They proceeded to give a detailed introduction and tour of the ICL Education campus to Counsellor Dong, showcasing our professional characteristics, strong co-operation and relationships with China-New Zealand exchanges, as well as creating a discussion based on international Chinese students.

Counsellor Dong said that he was very pleased to visit our school. In particular, he was deeply impressed by the high quality of our teachers, educational facilities and the school’s care for international students.

Furthermore, he spoke highly of the academic progress of our students and expressed his willingness to give his full support to the exchanges and co-operation between our school and universities in China.

During his visit, Counsellor Dong also met with some of the Chinese students in our school. The international students from China discussed their learning and living situation the counsellor and explained their journey at ICL. Counsellor Dong was highly responsive and recognised the students’ language learning performance, and repeatedly asked the students to pay attention to take care of themselves, keep in touch with their families, and continue to focus their minds towards education.

Counsellor Dong stressed that there was a recent telephone fraud case of international students, so they should please be vigilant to avoid being cheated.

In addition, Counsellor Dong proposed that the school should strengthen the construction of a Chinese student union within the school, and said he would actively support the student union of our school to organize cultural activities. By doing so, the international Chinese students in our school can create a feeling of a family: to unite with each other, support each other and make progress together.
