AEA TESOL

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, an intensive 5-week course for non-native English speakers who wish to teach English to pre- and primary school-aged children in their home country.

At the moment, this course is exclusively available for group bookings.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Completed and signed the ICL application form
  • Passport
  • IELTS Academic score of 5.5 overall or equivalent performance in the ICL IEPT (Internal English Proficiency Test).
  • Police Check from your home country.
  • Possess the appropriate visa
  • Student/Travel Insurance*

**Insurance is mandatory for all students on a Student Visa, WHV, AEWV, partner visa and visitor visa as per ICL, NZQA and INZ policies; it does not apply for permanent residents and citizens. The insurance must cover all the stipulations outlined in Section No.9 of the Terms and Conditions within our Application Form. 

 

LEARN:

  • Theory and practice of teaching English to young learners.
  • How to plan a lesson.
  • How to teach reading, writing, listening and speaking.
  • How to engage young learners.
  • How to teach using songs, games and activities.
  • How to make and use teaching resources.

BE ABLE TO:

  • Plan an age-appropriate lesson for young learners.
  • Use fun and engaging activities.
  • Work as an English language teacher or an assistant English language teacher in your home country

J-SHINE

J-Shine option for Japanese Students. The students take an additional week-long internship after the 5-week course.

AEA TESOL classes are from Monday to Friday.

From 8:30 to 14:00 + 2-3 Hours of self-study and preparation time

8:30 – 10:30 | Lesson 1 120 Min
10:30 – 10:50 | Break 20 Min
10:50 – 12:30 | Lesson 2 100 Min
12:30 – 13:00 | Break 30 Min
13:00 – 14:00 | Lesson 3 60 Min
